Our N Reg Bongo was fine until the temperature dial went off the scale and the kettle boiling whistling noises started. Try this even if the water expansion tank looks full....

Remove the water cap when safely cooled down. Turn on the engine so it ticks over. Then, using a watering can or something similar, pour water into the system while the engine is running. In our case, it took nearly 2 watering cans' full before the level went back up, even though the tank had looked full with the engine off! When the watering level went back up, the fans cut out, one after the other. The van is now fine again.

The water being poured in while the engine was running pushed any air bubbles through the system. Sumple but it might cure the problem for anyone suffering from this.

Best wishes, Ray
